Individual Therapy
I am trained in CBT-E for eating disorders, CBT for generalized anxiety, DBT and Iām anxiety and trauma informed.
Enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders is a short-term, effective treatment for reducing/stopping the restrict/binge cycle. If needed, we discuss deeper issues including relationships, low self esteem and unrealistic perfectionism. My approach is trauma informed, anti-diet and weight inclusive. I work mostly with clients who experience binge eating, emotional eating and chronic dieting/disordered eating.
Dialectical behavioral therapy focuses on four different skill areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Sessions focus on how to implement skills in your daily life.
Talk therapy is a conversational approach that combines reflection, validation and processing emotions. Talking can bring up many emotions and realizations that help you feel better in the long term.
Psycho-education happens during sessions to help you learn new skills, understand their symptoms and interventions. You can implement the education in between sessions and I usually give homework.
